And so it begins. Phone off at 7:31 PM.
Mix of emotions.
Last call was to Dad.
Last text was to Andrea: I love you!
52 days ago, I couldn’t fall asleep as this idea popped into my head.
Not the idea of this blog or a future book that has already started.
The idea was straightforward: completely detaching from my cell phone for 365 days.
I’ll share a lot more over the next year.
On my terms. It will be genuine. It will be raw.
This is going to be different from any other newsletter you read. There is no set cadence.
Sometimes it might be back-to-back days.
Sometimes you might not hear from me for two weeks.
Some of it might make you uncomfortable because you’ll begin to ask yourself questions in solitude. Questions that will force you to hold up a mirror.
As Viktor Frankl said, “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”
The words on your screen, I’ll put those there.
Your response and how it applies to you that’s your choice.
